We recommend getting a robot mop and vacuum that comes with a user-friendly base station. This makes it easier to clean or replace cleaning pads, as well as empty and clean the water tank.
Consider a model with Wi-Fi connectivity so you can create a map of your home and set automated or scheduled timers. You can also make use of features like mop/vacuum switch.
1. Roborock S7 Max Ultra
This powerful robot mop and vacuum is a true powerhouse. It cleans floors, recognizes rugs and automatically empties its own water and dustbin tanks. It also has a powerful suction system and is able to even dispensate detergent. However, all this functionality is priced at a high price of $1200. It's also the most expensive robot vacuum and mop package I've reviewed.
The S7 Max Ultra is easy to install straight out of the box. When you plug it into the wall, it will ask you to map your home using sensors. Then, it will continue to use that information to avoid obstacles. During our testing, it avoided getting stuck on power cords, long curtains and even dog toys. It's not perfect but it occasionally ran into things like tangled wires or the odd book or toy.
The S7 Max Ultra can be controlled via its smartphone app. This is where you will find all the sophisticated features that distinguish it from other robot vacuums and mops. They include specific room-specific cleaning and mopping settings, a scheduling planner mopping and vacuuming ranges, as well as integrations with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa for smart home integration. The S7 Max Ultra's extensive features allow it to accomplish everything a standard robot can do however at a fraction of the price.
The S7 Max Ultra vacuuming is impressive. It did a great job picking up dirt, pet fur, and other debris, both on hard and carpet floors. The automatic emptying of the dustbin was flawless during our tests. This was very and reassuring. It also boasts 5100 Pa HyperForce power, which is significantly higher than the 2,500Pa of the S6MaxV and S7.
The S7 Max Ultra's mopping capability was excellent, but not the most impressive we've seen. It used a special microfiber mop pad that sucks up liquids and uses sonic vibration technology to scrub floors up to 3000 times per minute, which is a bit quicker than the X1 Omni's circular pads, which rotate at 180 revolutions per minute. The S7 Max Ultra's ReactiveAI 2.0 obstacle recognition system was extremely good. During our testing it didn't get stuck on any objects, and it avoided power cords or long curtains as well as other obstacles that could be in the way 100% of the time.
2. Narwal Freo
Cleaning your floors and vacuuming is one of those chores that we all hate, but are necessary for maintaining a clean home. It's a messy and often smelly job that is difficult to finish, since it requires dustbins, dirty water, and the necessity to ensure that any debris or hair does not clog brushes or traps. Robots that mop and vacuum are now extremely popular. Many of these products require you to empty the dustbin, and wash and rinse the mop pads manually. This is a hassle especially if it's necessary to do this repeatedly during or after cleaning sessions. We're pleased to learn that certain manufacturers are introducing self emptying robots to make this process much easier.
The Narwal Freo is the latest version of this class of robotic cleaners and it has a plethora of new software, sensor, and hardware improvements engineered to keep it at the top of its class. The patented DirtSense Technology and Smart-Swing feature both work to better recognize the surface being cleaned and then automatically alter the cleaning method based on the type of floor. The Freo also monitors the level of dirtiness and automatically washes its mops when they are full, which improves the effectiveness of subsequent cleaning sessions by not returning to soiled areas.
The Freo is also a step forward over its predecessor in that it is controlled directly via the LCD touchscreen on its base station. This is in addition to the app for smartphones. This is the first robot vacuum and mop combo to offer this feature. It's a nice addition even if you don't use the app. You can even alter the route during the session using the LCD screen controls.
The Narwal Freo also does a decent job of keeping the noise low when it's in use and registering just 63dB when it is in suction mode. The Freo's maintenance isn't entirely hands-free, however. It is necessary to clean the primary brush roll as well as the side brushes periodically.
3. Ecovacs Deebot t9+
The Ecovacs Deebot T9+ (available at The Good Guys for $1279) is one of the most self-emptying robot vacuum s and mop combinations on the market. It can map out your home and vacuum and mop while detecting and avoiding obstructions. It can even release an air freshener, which is a pretty neat touch.
The app creates a digital map of your house that can be used to clean. It's easy to set up. The app allows you to select certain rooms or areas to be cleaned. You can also set the time of day you'd like it begin cleaning, so that your floors are kept clean even when you're asleep or away.
In our tests in our tests, the T9+ was extremely impressive in its ability to navigate obstacles. However, it has a tendency to take a few errands around the house, which usually meant it ended in the exact place it had started cleaning a few minutes earlier. It didn't happen very often however enough to be noticed.
The T9+ comes complete with a range of accessories, including the robot cleaner, docking-station, and an automatic-emptying station. The mopping module, and a replacement dustbin are sold separately.
The new navigation mapping, mapping, and obstacle detection systems are designed to keep your home tidy without interruptions. The new 3D obstacle detection and avoidance technology recognizes objects with high-precision, avoiding collisions, entanglements or disruptions.
The Deebot T9+ can sweep, vacuum and mop at the same time. Your floor will look just as nice as it was when you first purchased it. The disposable mopping pads are simple to attach, and the microfiber fabric effectively traps dust, blocks away stains and avoids leaving any residue. The large 2.5L auto-empty stations are able to hold up to 30 days of trash without leaking. This makes it easy to keep your home tidy with minimum effort. The T9+ also comes with an upgraded 3000Pa vacuum motor that delivers powerful suction to ensure an effective clean.
4. iRobot Combo j7+

The iRobot Combo j7+ is a great robot to clean floors. It's a mop and a vacuum, all in one, and it comes with excellent obstacle avoidance and home navigation. It can map your home and clean areas, without hitting furniture or walls. It's also easy to use the app to create zones for areas that must be cleaned, or areas that you would like to avoid, as well as set up specific no-mop or no-sweep areas.
IRobot's iAdapt technology 2.0 is an integral element that makes Combo j7and smart. This is a front camera that sits atop the majority of its robots. It can identify dangers, such as power cords or pet waste and to avoid them. iAdapt 2.0 also allows the Combo j7+ robot to identify dirt levels and focus more on those areas.
When the Combo J7+ detects it is on a floor that needs to be mopped an arm of a robot with mop pad is lifted from beneath the vacuum. Then, it mops the floor until the mopping pad is dry which takes about 90 minutes.
The Combo J7+ can also sense carpeting, which is great for homes that have carpeting and carpets. It doesn't try to push through the rug, however it will rather back away if it feels it can't make it over the area without damaging itself or the carpet.
The Combo j7+ is easy to control from the mobile application, which is intuitive and well-designed. It works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa which means you can start a cleaning by voice. The only drawback I could find was that the Combo j7+'s smaller water tank means you have to replenish it frequently or limit its mopping to smaller areas, and run it in eco-mode more frequently.
Another downside is that the Combo j7+'s dust bin is small, and you have to empty it manually. The Combo j7+ mop pads were also less efficient than other brands. This is a pity, because this robot is otherwise excellent.
